Dispensing of PU using smartmotor technology – technology supplied to a machine builder who built a machine for dispensing PU around windscreens.
Positioning of windscreen rain sensor using a Keyence vision system and smartmotor technology to position the X and Y axis. The sensor position was measured using the Keyence system and compared with the target position. The X-Y difference was sent directly to the smartmotors and their on-board processor was able to decode the X-Y positions and move the sensor to the correct position. This resulted in a low cost, but powerful and reliable solution with minimal components. This project was carried out by a machine builder to whom SMS supplied the base motion technology.
