Feedback devices that convert mechanical motion into electrical signals to determine velocity and position (absolute or relative). Allen-Bradley offers both absolute and incremental encoders.

  Absolute Encoders
 
845D Single-Turn
The 845D is a heavy-duty size 25 single-turn absolute encoder that digitizes shaft position into one of a number of absolute code formats: Gray Code, Natural Binary or Binary Coded Decimal (BCD). Designed in a rugged NEMA Type 4 housing, the 845D is available with TTL and Open-Collector output types.
 
845G Single-Turn
The 845G is a size 25 single-turn absolute encoder available with resolutions from 8 to 15 bits in the following absolute code formats: Gray Code, Natural Binary or Binary Coded Decimal (BCD). Designed in a rugged NEMA Type 4 and 13 housing, the 845G is available with SSI, Push-Pull, TTL and Open-Collector output types. The 845G also simplifies set-up through the use of the zero set pin which, when connected to DC+, sets the home/zero position.
 
845GM Single-Turn
The 845GM is a single-turn absolute encoder with resolution from 256 to 32,768 CPR in a compact size 20 housing. The 845GM is available with Gray Code, Natural Binary or Binary Coded Decimal (BCD) absolute code formats in SSI, Push-Pull, TTL and Open-Collector output types. An electronic zero setting on the 845GM simplifies set-up and maintenance.
 
842A Multi-Turn with SSI
The 842A is a multi-turn absolute encoder that features a Synchronous Serial Interface (SSI) with up to 24-bit resolution. Designed in a rugged NEMA Type 4 and 13 housing, the 842A is available in either Natural Binary or Gray Code formats.
 
842D DeviceNet
The 842D is a 26-bit multi-turn absolute encoder that offers direct connection to DeviceNet for enhanced functionality with reduced wiring cost. Providing up to 8192 counts per revolution (CPR) over a maximum of 8192 turns, the 842D incorporates a variety of network-configurable features including programmable cams, count direction, output scaling, and position setting. On-board status information and diagnostics allow the user to monitor system performance and reduce downtime.
 
   
  Incremental Encoders
845H
The 845H is a size 25 incremental encoder with resolution up to 5000 pulses per revolution (PPR) at a frequency response of 210kHz. Designed in a rugged NEMA Type 4 and 13 housing, the 845H is available with sourcing, sinking, differential line driver (DLD) or NPN Open-Collector output types.
 
845T
The 845T is a heavy-duty size 20 incremental encoder with resolution ranging from 1 to 3000 pulses per revolution (PPR). Designed in a rugged NEMA Type 4 housing, the 845T is available with differential line driver (DLD) or Push-Pull output types. The heavy-duty bearing assembly, rugged construction and high shaft loading capabilities make the 845T suitable for many of today's harsh industrial environments.
 
845P
The 845P is a size 15 industrial incremental encoder with a NEMA Type 1 aluminum enclosure. It offers resolution of 500 or 1000 PPR with a differential line driver output.
 
844D Hollow-Shaft
The 844D is a hollow-shaft incremental encoder with a 3.5" diameter housing (HS35 style). Suitable for shaft sizes from 1/2" up to 1-1/8", the 844D offers resolution from 120 to 16,384 PPR in differential line driver (DLD) or Push-Pull outputs.
 
844A/844B
The 844A blind-shaft and 844B through-shaft incremental encoders feature a unique integral flex mount that reduces installation costs and mounting space requirements. Designed in a size 20, IP40 housing, these encoders offer 42 resolution options from 10 to 2500 PPR in differential line driver (DLD) or NPN Open-Collector outputs.
