SMS have partnered with Dynatorch of the USA to launch a CNC Plasma cutting machine.
Having built machine for CNC Plasma Cutting in the past we could see that many machines were overpriced and came with expensive support packages and others were unreliable machines with limited capability and limited support.
When Dr John Wilkinson of Wilkinson Star announced that his company were to make a significant investment in building a high quality training academy using the latest welding equipment he also made a commitment to support industry in the area of welding and plasma cutting.
Having worked with SMS in the past and knowing that we manufacture quality machines at competitive prices with great support, Dr Wilkinson asked if SMS would partner with Wilkinson Star in placing a CNC machine in the new training academy so that trainees would have access to a “live CNC machine”.
We were very happy to partner with Wilkinson Star in this commitment and at the same time we signed an agreement with Dynatorch of Kentucky USA to manufacture their machine under license since we had worked with Dyantorch for a number of years.
The reasons we did this is are very simple:-
We have the know how to build and support the Dynatorch based machine in europe.
The Dynatorch machine and software is “industry proven” and there are over 1000 systems in use.
This means that combined with the Wilkinson Star Academy the machine has a great support structure from enquiry through to warranty and customers would be able to get support and spares for a long time to come.
